KIDDERMINSTER Carolians went down 32-3 at Camp Hill after being outclassed by one of the few outstanding teams in Midlands Three West North.

While Camp Hill remain unbeaten and are joint top with Newport on 12 points, the defeat plunges KCs back into the bottom two.

But with the mid-table congested and only two points separating fifth from 11th, several positive results would kickstart their season.

In the first half of the game, despite several enforced changes, they worked hard and showed what they can be capable of.

Camp Hill took an early lead from a Simon Edwards penalty, but having missed one kick, Andy Stooksbury put KCs level with a penalty in the 10th minute.

It was fairly evenly matched, but Camp Hill's backs always looked dangerous and they took advantage when KCs had a player harshly sin-binned on 25 minutes.

They capitalised upon having the extra men to put pressure on their visitors and scored a try through hooker Jason Tooth three minutes later.

Just before the break, Andy Webber made a great run down the right but was pulled up when a score seemed likely to leave KCs trailing 8-3 at half-time.

The second half began disastrously with Camp Hill scoring two tries in the first eight minutes through Marc Chetland and Sean Morrissey, with Edwards kicking one conversion.

This made the score 20-3 and KCs never looked as if they could rediscover first half spirit.

Morrissey added a second try in the 63rd minute and Mike Hoare went over with five minutes remaining. Edwards converted the second of the tries to bump Camp Hill's score up to 32. .

KCs are not on league duty this weekend, so they have more time to ready themselves for the visit of Lichfield whom they have never beaten in a league encounter.

Part of their preparation will be a home friendly against Aston Old Edwardians at 2.30pm.

There was more joy for the seconds who blitzed Luctonians thirds 47-5, running in seven tries along the way.

James Guest did most of the damage with a hat-trick, while there were braces from both Mark Whitard and Iain Crockett.

Tom Oakes kicked three conversions and two penalties.

A hat-trick of tries and three conversions from Paul Weston ensured there was also success for the thirds who won 35-15 at Luctonians. Neil Smith notched his first try in a senior side, with Martyn Wright also crossing and Spencer Crockett kicking two conversions.

On Saturday, the seconds are away and the thirds are at home against Old Hales, with both games kicking off at 2.30pm.
