RESIDENTS are being consulted to see how they think the Terry Fields play area can be improved for youngsters.

At many Central and Southcrest neighbourhood group meetings, residents have voiced concerns about it being one of the worst areas in Redditch when it comes to lack of play areas and facilities for youngsters.

Although no new play areas are in the pipeline, it was suggested more could be done for the Terry Fields area so more youngsters could enjoy it.

At a recent neighbourhood group meeting, Councillor Greg Chance told residents: "It is recognised by the council that in the Central area there is a definite lack of play equipment and play areas for youngsters.

"There is definitely potential for the area at Terry Fields as there is already a football pitch and a play area but at the moment, it's looking relatively run-down and shabby and needs to be improved.

"If we improve the equipment which is already there and add some new items, then possibly more children would want to use Terry Fields."

Mr Chance and fellow Central and Southcrest councillor Debbie Taylor had been talking to residents living near Terry's Field about whether they would give their support to improvements being made and most people thought it was a good idea.
