WORCESTER Rugby Club's countdown to the Premiership has begun and a drawing has been completed of the new East Stand which will be erected in time for the start of the season.

"Work is well advanced for the new East Stand at Sixways," said chairman Cecil Duckworth. "The groundworks are now being prepared and the main frame will be on site on July 5, ready for erection.

"The capacity of the new stand is 4,000 and will run the full length of the pitch. Entrance to the stand will be via walkways underneath, so avoiding the need for spectators passing in front.

"Bars, a shop and food outlets will be situated at the back of the stand and, for debenture holders, there will be a marquee complete with a bar and hot food will be also available.

"Season tickets and a limited number of debenture seats are still available in the East Stand.

"It will be completed for the Warriors' opening pre-season game against Cardiff, in aid of Neil Lyman's testimonial, at Sixways on August 13."
