WORCESTER Rugby Club have finally ended Nnamdi Ezulike's Sixways stay.

The winger has not been offered a new deal by the Warriors after being placed 'under review' at the end of last season.

The 27-year-old now looks set to turn his attention to a business career in London.

The former London Irish man endured a miserable time with injuries over the past two seasons and a return to competitive action, especially in the ultra-physical Premiership, always looked a long shot.

Ezulike only played in the final game of the season for Worcester, after a string of operations on his knees, and was one of the players whose position was uncertain at the end of the campaign. Another such player, Chris Garrard, is likely to find out his fate this week.

Garrard returned to Australia at the end of the season after being told Worcester would look at the market before making a final decision on his future. However, after missing out on big money signings such as Stephen Larkham and Matt Burke, there may be room left in the Sixways budget for Garrard or another winger.

"We've weighed up all the factors, most of them rugby ones, and for one reason or another Chris Garrard is still in contention for a contract while Nnamdi is not," said director of rugby John Brain.

"Chris has had some offers but no Premiership ones and I think he is the type of person that will only play at the level that he wants to. I think, if he cannot play at the right level for him, he will turn his back on rugby and get a job.

"However, it's an on-going thing with Chris and we expect to make a decision by the end of the week."

Meanwhile, after former fly-half Tim Walsh's move to Pertemps Bees, Brain has admitted that the Australian's overseas status provided a problem for any possible Worcester return.

"It was a stumbling block," he said. "We have always thought that Tim was a good player but we have Tom Bowman and Tommy Hayes as our overseas players."
