Redditch United 4

Vauxhall Motors 1

LOAN star Norman Sylla netted four times to help Redditch United to their second victory of the season on Saturday afternoon.

The Tamworth striker, on a months loan at the Valley, joined another shrewd loan signing - Kidderminster Harriers Scott Rickards - up front and both players created havoc for the Motors side.

Sylla took just 11 minutes to get on the score sheet after Craig Woodley's cross from the left wing was flicked on by Rickards to Sylla who made no mistake.

Scott Rickards should have doubled the Reds lead minutes before half time as a long Richard Anstiss goal kick was misjudged by the Motormen's defence.

Rickards lobbed the keeper but the bounce took the ball inches over the bar.

And it was all Redditch after the break as the front two ran the visiting defence ragged.

Sylla broke the Vauxhall off side trap wide open and rounded Motors keeper Tim Dittmer to net his second just before the hour mark.

But five minutes later the Reds defenders were asleep as Darren Wright prodded his effort past Anstiss after a good cross from Wayne McDermott.

Reds boss Rod Brown livened things up after introducing Danny Scheppel, Rob Taylor and Jordan King into his line-up but it was Simon Hollis who made Redditch's third.

The Reds winger's deft touch allowed Sylla in for his hatrick with eight minutes to go and five minutes later Sylla showed his class again after pinching the ball from Vauxhall's Carl Nesbitt in the penalty area and hammering the ball past Ditmmer.
