Barrow 1

Redditch United 6

GOAL machine Norman Sylla embarrassed Barrow's defence with another high quality hat-trick as the Reds romped home winners on Saturday.

But it was at the other end of the field that the heroics started for United.

After just two minutes Reds keeper Richard Ansitss was caled into action when Sean Flynn was adjudged to have handled in the area.

Graham Anthony stepped up but Anstiss was up to the challenge and Flynn's argument with the referee earned him a booking.

Loan star Sylla, who netted four times against Vauxhall Motors last weekend, took just 32 minutes to get on the scoresheet against Barrow as he got on the end of a Scott Rickards flick from a Mark Taylor corner.

But the teams were back level on 40 minutes as Graham Anthony's corner was met by Paul Raven's head and crept under Richard Anstiss' bar.

The teams were level for just seconds as Sylla netted his second four minutes before the interval.

The game got heated after the restart with barrow midfielder Phil Rowland given a straight red card for an x-rated challenge on Reds skipper Mark Taylor.

And United wasted no time taking advantage of the extra man through Danny Schppel's strike on 64 minutes.

Sylla grabbed his hard earned hat-trick a minute later when he blasted past Adam Capp in the Barrow net.

Scott Rickards got his first goal for United after joining on loan from Kidderminster Harriers on 66 minutes and Mark Taylor rounded off the game with an unbelievable strike from the corner flag.

Reds boss Rod Brown said: "Nobody is more surprised than me about how one-sided the game was.

"We've been threatening to do this for a long time and the two strikers have made a real difference."
