WORCESTER City boss John Barton was grateful for a share of the spoils at Moor Green following a lack-lustre Boxing Day display.

Leon Kelly salvaged a 1-1 Dr Martens Premier Division draw with his 10th goal of the season to cancel out Peter Faulds' opener for the Moors but Barton admitted City had not deserved a point.

Kelly's goal was one of the few highlights by a rusty looking City side playing their first match in 18 days following two postponed matches against Crawley Town and Welling United.

"The performance didn't merit the result and playing like that is not going to get us anywhere," said Barton.

"Afterwards we had a chat about where we think we can improve it."

"Players have got two things that they are responsible for -- their general level of fitness and their personal performance," he added.

"There's got to be more accountability out on the pitch and if I was in Moor Green's shoes I'd be upset we didn't get three points."

"I wish I could turn the clock back and be a player and not a manager because at least then you had some control over it but watching that was like drawing teeth," Barton added.

City will face Moor Green again in the third round of the Dr Martens Cup, this time at home. The tie will be played on Monday, January 19.
