WORCESTER City manager John Barton hopes the forthcoming clashes with Stafford Rangers and Dover Athletic can be a springboard for a successful remainder of the season.
The St George's Lane club play both teams in the space of 48 hours with Stafford visiting on New Year's Day and City then travelling to Dover on Saturday.
"If we can get a decent haul from these two games we can push ourselves back in contention with the big boys and starting aiming for a strong finish," said Barton.
"With just five points separating us from second spot there's still a lot to play for.
"We're into the second half of the season and once you get past Christmas and into January you start looking how long is left not what is to come.
"Two games in three days, including a long trip to Dover, will be tough, even though it hasn't been the hardest of festive periods, but we'll have to be up for the task."
