GOALS at the right end are a weekend wish for Kidderminster Harriers fans as director of football Jan Molby pins faith in his players' abilities.

Harriers, who entertain Leyton Orient at Aggborough tomorrow, were comprehensively thrashed 4-0 at Bury on Bank Holiday Monday and have scored just two in six Coca-Cola League Two fixtures.

And one of the goals was a penalty from Ian Foster to earn their only victory so far, a 1-0 success over Darlington on August 14.

The statistics do not make happy reading for Harriers supporters, whose team are third-from-bottom, and Molby has a challenge to improve matters tomorrow with five key players unavailable.

Striker Iyseden Christie (foot) and defender Reuben Hazell (knee) are still yet to play for the club, while French centre-half Abdou Sall (ankle) and Senegalese striker Youssou Diop (hamstring) have also been out for longer than hoped.

Midfielder Micky Mellon serves an instant one-match ban after his dismissal for two yellow cards at Bury which will place more emphasis on the experience of Dean Keates.

Mellon's ban may allow Richie Appleby a first start of the season in his own return from injury.

Appleby's comeback would be a much-needed boost for Harriers who are struggling to fire in all departments, though the attack's failure to sparkle has been most noticeable.

However, Molby has stressed there is no need to panic and he has been busy this week emphasising the football basics to his hapless players in order to avoid more embarrassing defeats.

Harriers showed what they are capable of in the Carling Cup penalty exit to Cardiff only last week.

Molby said: "In the space of six days we've gone from looking like a team on the verge of doing okay to a team who can't do anything right at the moment.

"If you look at the goals we conceded at Bury, they are not that difficult to avoid.

"But when we tell people to work on these things, they have to make sure they do it when they go out on the pitch because if they don't we are going to have massive problems.

"We just keep reminding them to do their jobs and then, believe me, there will be a massive change and we will have a chance of winning games.

"If we cut out the individual mistakes, we might just have a chance. I don't think it's as bad as some people think but some of the decisions that we make are horrendous."

Loanees Simon Brown and Adrian Viveash, from West Brom and Swindon respectively, play the final games of their one-month deals but Molby looks set to try and extend both players' stays.

Orient are yet to lose on their travels this season with draws at Cambridge United and Northampton alongside a 2-1 win at Cheltenham.

But they only picked up their first home victory in four attempts on Monday, beating Rochdale 2-1, and have suffered defeat in three out of four league games at Aggborough.

n Harriers will have a cup reunion with Craig Hinton later this month as they travel to Bristol Rovers in the LDV Vans Trophy first round.
