ONE of Worcester Warriors' biggest summer captures began his Sixways career today. Thomas Lombard met up with his new team-mates this morning as he started training with the Premiership new boys.

The 29-year-old winger, who swapped Stade Francais for Worcester, checked into Sixways for his first taste of life under coaches John Brain and Andy Keast.

"He's a huge signing for Worcester and supporters should be excited about his arrival," said head coach Keast.

"I know I'm looking forward to working with him because he is a very talented player who has played at the top level for so long now. He's coming to Worcester after a successful season with Stade Francais but what's important for us is that he is hungry for more.

"Thomas is very excited about this move and he's been thoroughly professional about it all along.

"He's probably one of the highest profile of our summer signings, being a former French international, and his ability to play across the back line gives us so many options for the season ahead.

"His English is good, although he wants to improve on it, and he'll be thrown into training today with the rest of the players. Certainly he's looking to move into the city and we'll be sitting down with him this week to sort that side of things out."
