KIDDERMINSTER Harriers could unleash a new striker on Scunthorpe United today after extra transfer funds were made available to director of football Jan Molby.

The club's board have shown faith in Molby by providing him with the cash to help lift the club from its position at the foot of Coca-Cola League Two.

Chairman Colin Youngjohns said that they have 'gambled' by making funds available for Molby to spend on squad-building immediately.

It is believed Molby has tried to boost his forward line ahead of today's visit of United, who are sitting second in the division after clocking up six wins from their opening 12 wins.

Harriers have Youssou Diop, Jesper Christiansen, Isyeden Christie and on-loan Kelvin Langmead up front, but the club have scored just five goals this term

Youngjohns believes the money should ideally be kept for later in the season, but a decision has been taken to use it now because of the club's precarious position.
