BEN Hinshelwood has been giving a helping hand to the future of Worcester. The Sixways skipper took time out this week to coach youngsters as part of the futurecamps project at Worcester.

Rugbyfuture camps link the professional side of the game with young people aspiring to become the stars of tomorrow.

Their coaches are professional and semi-professional players keen to pass on their knowledge and expertise.

Ben Harvey - a former Worcester player who now runs the camps - said: "The techniques involved in playing the game at a professional level move forward every season. Our coaches can develop these young players and show them these new skills.

"The camps are all about enjoyment and fun. Each day starts at 10am and finishes at 3pm. The players are given lunch and get free equipment, they also get a chance to win prizes for themselves, their clubs and their schools."

Meanwhile, new signing Thinus Delport looks unlikely to make his Worcester debut until mid September. The Springbok, who hasn't played since injuring his knee last December, is getting stronger by the day according to head coach Andy Keast but the former British Lions coach will not rush his new signing back.

"It would be foolish to do so," said Keast. "He's getting so strong now but themedical opinion is that he shouldn't play until mid September. We have to be

guided by that."

Gary Trueman began training again this week after a minor toe operation while a number of absentees from last Friday's 16-13 loss at Leinster will be also be on show as Worcester take on the Irishmen again at Sixways this afternoon (2pm) in their final pre-season match.

"We'll be looking at a number of different combinations," added Keast. "It will be the first time we've seen Thomas Lombard on the wing for example after he did so well at centre.

"We want to improve generally against Leinster but we'll be hoping to use this more as a 'competitive' warm-up match than a friendly game and we've picked a strong side."
