ON-LOAN winger Simon Brown's injury is not as bad as first feared at Kidderminster Harriers but he will still miss up to three weeks.

The West Bromwich Albion 21-year-old was thought to have a cracked tibia which would have kept him out for two months.

But the damage, suffered in Saturday's 3-2 win over Scunthorpe United, has turned out to be not so severe after a second scan.

Brown's third month of loan is due to end before he returns from injury and Harriers will have to decide whether to keep him for the season or allow him to go back to The Hawthorns.

Harriers have failed in loan bids for Rotherham's former Walsall forward Martin Butler and Bournemouth's Derek Holmes.

A move to bring ex-Cheltenham target man Julian Alsop to the club also looks set to fail as he is linked with Northampton Town.

Meanwhile, Harriers have confirmed they will be hosting the reserve clash between West Brom and Manchester United next month.

The Barclays Premiership Reserve League North fixture will take place at Aggborough on Monday, November 1 (7pm).

Harriers will hope some of United's big names are on the teamsheet which could create a bumper crowd.
