PAUL Collingwood again showed his liking for the Worcestershire bowlers as he followed his unbeaten century in the totesport League clash at New Road with a match-winning 63 not out at Chester-le-Street.

Durham moved above their visitors into second place in Division Two by passing Worcestershire's 205 for seven with five wickets and two overs to spare.

Nadeem Malik checked Durham's victory march with three wickets, reducing them from 139 for two to 157 for five, but Andrew Pratt helped England ace Collingwood complete the task.

Pratt contributed 35 off 27 balls to the unbroken stand of 52.

Worcestershire chose to bat on a hot afternoon but struggled to adapt to the pace of the surface after playing on much faster ones at New Road.

Opener Stephen Moore batted through their innings for his best one-day score of 93 not out, made off 144 balls with nine fours and a six.

He put on 66 for the first wicket with Vikram Solanki, who was leg before to Collingwood for 37 in the 16th over.

With young paceman Graham Onions removing Graeme Hick and Ben Smith cheaply, Moore had to rebuild the innings with the experienced David Leatherdale.

They put on 73 in 16 overs before Leatherdale drove to long-on for 41 and with sharp Durham fielding producing two run-outs it was left to Moore to ensure a competitive total.

The Durham innings began in very similar fashion to Worcestershire's with Nicky Peng playing Solanki's role.
