A MORALE-boosting 1-1 draw at Tiverton Town must be made to count with victory on Saturday warns Worcester City manager John Barton.
The St George's Lane boss watched his side stage a spirited fightback at the weekend in heavy conditions at Tiverton but believes it will count for nothing if they fail to beat visiting Chelmsford City.
"We were disappointed with the draw at Bath but pleased with the point against Tiverton," said Barton. "Now we have to make sure that those efforts are not wasted by winning on Saturday."
City are now unbeaten in five Dr Martens Premier Division games but dropped a place to fourth in the table following Stafford Rangers' 2-1 win at Chelmsford. Leaders Weymouth suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat at Cambridge City to give hope to their rivals in the chasing pack.
Meanwhile, Barry Woolley failed to make the bench for Worcester's trip to Devon after reporting slight soreness in the thigh injury he sustained two weeks ago.
