MALVERN Premiers played away against AFC Deers Leap last Sunday and came away with a resounding 8-3 win.

AFC DEERS LEAP 3, MALVERN PREMIERS 8

But it was Deers Leap that opened the scoring in the opening minutes of the game when Prems let in an easy goal.

After a lacklustre start, the Premiers seemed to wake up and levelled after 20 minutes when a good left wing cross was met with a furious header by Lee Henderson.

The Prems then took the lead after some good work from midfield that resulted in a quality pass from Lee Henderson to Lee Richardson, who sprang the offside trap to side-foot positively past the advancing keeper to give Prems a 2-1 lead.

From the restart Deers Leap went straight on the attack, only to be thwarted by a fine save from Steve Newman. With 35 minutes played Lee Henderson worked his way to the byeline and crossed to Mark Scrivener, who narrowly fired wide. On 40 minutes Prems went 3-1 ahead after a poor goal- kick was blocked by Mark Schuster who unselfishly laid the ball on to Mark Scrivener to drill home.

Deers Leap pulled one back at the start of the second half after a shot came back off the bar for a simple tap in from six yards.

But two minutes after restart, Prems re-established their two-goal lead after a looping through ball found Mark Schuster in space to fire home.

Henderson then made it 5-2 after playing a good one-two with Scrivener to open up Deers Leap's back line. Tony Darling almost made it six from a corner only to see his flick cleared off the line. A fine move from Deers Leap led to the scoring of their third goal from a sweeping cross which was met with a full on volley.

Henderson got his hat-trick with some fine foot work and trickery before tucking it in the net. Then Scrivener scored his second with a deft chip over the keeper to make it 7-3. Finally, Williams made a good run and supplied the pin- point pass to Scrivener, who put the ball past the keeper to claim his hat-trick.

This Sunday the Prems play at home against AFC Mazak.
