A GIANT teddy bear will be touring Worcester city centre until Thursday, September 23, in a bid to raise funds for the County Air Ambulance.

Toby, the 3ft teddy, is the official fund-raising mascot for Debenhams, and he is raising money for the air ambulance before he goes into retirement.

The cuddly character will be visiting a number of locations in and around the city next week, including Bell Square in CrownGate Shopping Centre, Debenhams Coffee Shop and Perdiswell Primary School.

The skies of Worcester will also play host to the air ambulance, which will stage a fly by, enabling people to see the helicopter in action.

"We chose the County Air Ambulance because it's a life-saving organisation that serves our local community and depends entirely on public donation to remain airborne," Vanessa Chibnall, administrator for Debenhams, said.

"By reaching the people of Worcester through Toby the teddy, we hope to generate as much money for the air ambulance as possible."
