I'VE previously thought the closure of our car boot sale at the countryside centre was being effected to facilitate the activities of those who prefer solitary walks in adjacent woodland.
The two letters I wrote seem to have flushed a rabbit from cover.
My information now is that the Countryside Centre car boot sale is being closed in preparation for groundworks, preparatory to further development, and that the development concerns more new office accommodation, possibly for the yet-to-be-elected West Midlands Regional Government. That would certainly explain the silence from county council spokesmen and the silence from county councillors.
Will our county council deny that the car boot is being closed in preparation for groundworks?
Will our county council publicly deny that there are plans, however tentative, for development of the green spaces currently surrounding our county council's offices?
And, if our county council isn't prepared to deny the rumoured development, would it like to take this opportunity of reassuring all interested parties that no such development is being contemplated - now or at any time in the future?
N TAYLOR,
Worcester.
