MANOR Park Bowls Club held its annual Geneva Cup Triples Day on a perfect sunny Saturday.

A very high standard of bowling produced some very competitive matches. The winning team was Fred Bailey, Dorothy Thomas and Jeff Meek.

The following weekend produced some fine matches for the club competition finals. The youngest club member, Matthew Wilson, had reached three finals and won each of them with his usual quiet brilliance, defeating his dad Nigel in the mixed sets.

The drawn pairs, in contrast, produced a very close fought game between four longer standing members with the score being all level going into the last end. Eric Ward and Tom Stanbridge just came out as winners of a match which no one deserved to lose.
