STOURPORT Swifts boss Dave Titterton is expecting a battle against bitter rivals Rushall Olympic in tomorrow's FA Cup first qualifying round tie at Walshes Meadow (3pm).

There is little love lost between both clubs, especially since the 2000-01 season when the Walsall outfit were pipped by Swifts to the Midland Alliance championship thereby missing out on promotion.

Titterton reckons Rushall, currently 11th in the Travel Factory Alliance, have not forgotten losing out on the title three years ago and believes they will be out to exact revenge.

He said: "It's going to be an end-to-end game and a bit of a scrap on the pitch. There's a bit of rivalry between the two clubs which goes back four seasons ago when Stourport pipped them to the title. That rivalry still continues.

"They are doing well and a few ex-Swifts lads play for them like Dave Davies, Ryan Price and Willie Dunn. I know all of their players and I reckon they know all of ours. It should be an entertaining game."

If Swifts reproduce the display that steamrollered Bracknell Town 4-0 last Saturday in Southern League Division One West, they should celebrate an easy passage into the next round.

Titterton was delighted with the result over Bracknell, which saw Mark Atkinson, Paul Lloyd and John Shirley put Stourport three goals ahead within the first 17 minutes.

Swifts are now fourth in the league and the manager said confidence is sky-high.

Titterton added: "The lads are playing great at the moment. We had the game won after 17 minutes at Bracknell and then we took our foot off the pedal. It's nice to be in among the league's chasing pack. That's what our aim was."
