LEIGH and Bransford Primary School has been put on special measures following an Ofsted inspection.
In a report published on Monday, inspectors described the quality of teaching in the foundation stage and Year 1 as unsatisfactory and poor.
The report says achievement in information and communication technology (ICT) is unsatisfactory, as is the assessment of pupils' progress. It also condemns frequent staff turnaround, which it says has not been managed effectively.
Headteacher Peter Gill said it had been a difficult year for the school and he felt the timing of the June inspection had not been favourable.
The school will open a new ICT suite this term and has also taken on a permanent foundation stage teacher.
Mr Gill said: "It was disappointing (the report) but we knew there were some issues, although some had already been identified.
"While we don't necessarily agree with everything said, we will do everything we can to make sure the same judgments are not made again."
Staff and governors have already begun putting together an action plan and will be meeting with parents over the next few weeks to discuss this.
Special measures are used when a school is not thought to be providing an adequate standard of education for pupils
Leigh and Bransford Primary School will have regular inspections from Ofsted until the issues identified in the report have been resolved - usually a two-year process.
