AS an extremely well satisfied customer of Cridlan & Walker, I should like to endorse and emphasise the comments made by Mr Leyland (Your Letters, September 3).
Has it occurred to councillors that shopkeepers in the town centre pay rates, and in many cases rent, to cover the occupation of the premises for 365 days in the year? The stallholders of a Saturday market, on the contrary, can by definition, contribute towards the space they occupy for an absolute maximum of 52 days in a year.
