A MALVERN woman has died in hospital following a car accident last month.
Sheelah Gasson, aged 76, was injured in the crash on August 7, which killed her husband Denys, 78.
The couple, of Monnow Close, were in a car being driven by their friend Michael Garrett, who was visiting from Australia.
The accident happened on the road between Hanley Swan and the Rhydd, opposite Priestfield Farm. Mr Garret pulled out of a junction on to the main road and the car was in collision with a van. Mr Gasson died later that day in hospital.
Mr Garrett subsequently pleaded guilty on August 17 to careless driving and was fined £125 by Worcester magistrates.
At an inquest on August 24, Worcestershire coroner Victor Round recorded a verdict of accidental death on Mr Gasson, a retired research scientist.
Mrs Gasson died in hospital at Worcester last Thursday, September 9. An inquest into her death was opened and adjourned on Friday.
