SHOCK of the day in the Soccer Site Division One on Sunday was Talbot Head's stunning victory at last season's champions Bishops Frome.

Over the last two seasons, Upton-based Talbot Head have proved to be Oak All Stars' bogey team and have more than played their part in helping Bishops Frome to two consecutive titles. But this season they appear to have turned their attention to stopping their hosts winning the title for a third consecutive season.

Defending their 25-match unbeaten run, Bishops Frome started by attacking the visitors' goal but apart from a shot from Matt Beale from 25 yards out, which struck the bar, they found Talbot Head in resolute mood.

Talbot Head took a surprise lead in the 30th minute when Andy Rogers latched onto a pass from Adam Webb and took it past two defenders before hitting the ball home from 12 yards out.

The final 15 minutes of the half saw Bishops Frome in all out attack but they did not really threaten the visitors' goal.

The second half started in similar fashion with Bishops Frome attacking but John Patterson and James Rimell held firm at the back for Talbot, and when they did get past Bishops Frome found keeper Nick Rogers giving a man-of-the-match performance.

Talbot Head broke out and increased their lead in the 75th minute when Adam Webb picked up a throw out from Nick Rogers and linked up with Dave Schooling. He played a quick exchange down the right before Adam Webb raced into the box and found himself unmarked before slotting the ball home.

Talbot Head then put everyone behind the ball and proved equal to anything Bishops Frome could throw at them and the final whistle went to give them a hard-earned but well-deserved victory.

Oak All Stars started their season with a 6-1 victory over visitors Bell Inn 98 with goals from Jamie James, James Dean, Neil Gardiner and a Mark Toman hat-trick, with their keeper Andy Smith saving a penalty. Chris Grubb scored the consolation for the visitors.

Cross Keys went to the top of the table with a 5-2 victory over visitors Morgan Aero 8 with goals from Eddie Wray, Rob Cullen, Damian Lloyd (pen) and two from Ollie Endacott, with both Morgan's Goals coming from Dave Lawrence.

In Division Two the young Perowne Park Rangers side entertained Keyz 04 and went to the top of the table with a 7-1 victory.

They took the lead when the visiting keeper fumbled a corner and Jason Wharf scored from close range. James Cale made it 2-0 from the penalty spot before a bizarre incident led to the third goal when the visiting keeper's kick from his hands hit a retreating forward on the back of the head and the ball looped up in the air and fell at the feet of Mike Dean, who hit the ball into the unguarded net.

Seb Kotlarzewski made it 4-0 with a clever flick from a long throw in. It became five when Jason Yates dived full length to head home a James Cale cross. James Cale then scored the 6th before Peter Jones ran onto a fine through ball from Daniel Geisler to make it seven. Ryan Mears scored a late consolation goal for the visitors.

Belmont scored seven without reply at Keys Victoria thanks to two each for Dave Perrerra and Matt Pearce and a hat-trick for Rob Jones.

There was a close game at Ganglands where, despite having a man sent off for hand ball on the line in the first half, All Star Misfits made Ganglands fight all the way before going down 5-4.

The home side's goals came from Tom Bethell, with two each for Gordon Mansell and Trevor Worgan. Amongst the goals for the visitors were Martin Loveridge (two) and Richard Bayliss.

Dilligaf United played their first game in the league and entertained Fromes Hill. They took the lead with goals from Blakie Smith and Matthew Dance to make it 2-0 at half time. They increased their lead in the first 10 minutes of the second half thanks to Nathan Mullins and Blakie Smith before they were given a scare when Ross Sweetman pulled two goals back for the visitors, but man of the match Pat Locke struck twice to make the game safe before Glyn Cummings wrapped up the scoring.
