HUNDREDS of people might, literally, owe their lives to three men from Kidderminster and Cleobury Mortimer who have each reached a milestone. Michael Bradley, Phillip Rawle and Philip Ward have all donated 75 pints of blood.
Their efforts were recognised in an awards ceremony arranged by the National Blood Service. Between them, they have given 225 units of blood, which could save up to 675 people, as each donation could be used on three people. Mr Bradley, 67, of Blount Terrace, Kidderminster, is a retired process worker for IMI Summerfield.
Mr Rawle, 56, of Jaypark Crescent, Kidderminster, is a teacher, while Mr Ward, 58, of Pinkham, Cleobury, is a purchasing manager. They were presented with Edinburgh crystal awards in Worcester.
Lyndsay Stewart, NBS spokeswoman, said: "Reaching the milestones of 75 donations is a massive achievement and indicates how much of their own time these special people have devoted to blood donation."
