Evesham and District Sunday League

GOLDEN Cross continued their excellent start in Division Two with victory at Defford and Besford.

The Harvington-based club found the net six times through Brown, Sibanda and Pressage who all scored twice. Warren did likewise for the losers.

Badsey Rec opened their season with a hard earned win over Moun-tinneers with Pearce and Smith on target.

Two goals from veteran Andy Brant helped Peopleton overcome Bredon, while goals from Cotton and Westwood gave Lower Moor the points at Shipston.

Two late goals earned Oddfellows Arms another success with Unwin, Buttle and Sears on target against Bidford.

Bretforton Old Boys are already looking strong contenders for third division honours and they proved too strong for Queens who were hit by a Sam Lindley treble.

Hampton WMC started their campaign where they finished the last one, hitting eight passed Broadway Reserves with Hooper and Rignall both scoring twice.

A Heath treble helped Tewkesbury Town overcome Pebworth, while a second half strike from Steve Hedderman earned Norgren the points at Wickhamford.

Bell United recorded their biggest-ever win after hitting 13 past Gate Inn with the chief destroyers Hardiman who scored five and Roberts who helped himself to a hat-trick.

Ian Crawford matched that feat as Royal Oak defeated Lenches Lions, while Riverside came from behind to defeat Eckington thanks to a Middleton treble.

Bullock also hit three as Cider Mill overcame George, while Pinvin United continued their good start as goals from Tolley (2), Smith, Lamb and Fletcher proved too many for Crown Athletic.

Red Horse recorded their second successive three-goal top flight win, while champions Moreton Wander-ers won at Inkberrow thanks to an own goal and a Ben Shurmer strike.

A second half Spencer goal gave Upton Snodsbury the points at home to Offenham, Ambassador defeated the Bear, while player/manager Richard Lewis grabbed a double as Mickleton Rangers opened their account with a win over Evesham WMC.
