RUNNERS will be on their marks on Sunday to raise money for a Wyre Forest group.
Hundreds are expected to take part in the Brambles Trust Road Races, starting at the Kingsway all-weather track at Stourport. The 5k fun run gets underway at 10.50am, while the 10k race starts 10 minutes later.
Seasoned athletes will be taking part in the main event, which incorporates the Worcestershire 10k Championship, but scores of fun runners will be lining up for the shorter distance of just over three miles.
The event is now the biggest fund raiser of the year for the Brambles organisation, which supports bereaved children and their families by setting up special weekend camps for those who have suffered the loss of loved ones.
Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Ray Mercer Sporting Foundation, created by the Shuttle/Times and News 10 years ago to provide grants for Wyre Forest's most talented young sportsmen and women.
