Carp catch aids Dave's bag in Tingle Trophy triumph

THE Rob Tingle Memorial Trophy was fished at Willow Farm Fishery last Saturday when weights were low as a result of the overnight rain.

Dave Beasley emerged victorious helped by an 11lb carp off the surface that helped him net a winning bag of 13.9.2.

Duncan Field was the leading junior on the day.

Results: 1 D Beasley 13.9.2; 2 Chris Coleman 6.11.3; 3 Andy Beasley 4.8.0. Section winners: Kevin Pickering 3.8.0; Steve Barwise 3.1.0.

The next junior and intermediate match takes place at the same venue on the Silver Pond on Saturday, September 25 when the draw takes place at 9am.

The Tom Pitcher Memorial Trophy saw John Smith take top spot and secure a place at next year's Evesham Festival.

Fished on Town Waters last Saturday, the winner, representing Bait Box AC, caught large perch on feeder tactics from peg 34 to weigh in 12.4.0.

Gary Seadon (4.14.0) was second and Brian Bennett (4.12.0) finished third.

Evesham Jubilee Society

THE society's annual visit to Barby saw John Davis, Simon Pickering and Paul Lawe return home with the silverware.

All members enjoyed an excellent day's sport with Davis lifting the Senior Cup with a winning weight of 66.13.0.

Lawe was second in the overall standings with 55.3.0, while Pickering's bag of 8.8.0 was enough to top the junior standings.

It's the third match in the Phil Johns Memorial Trophy on Sunday.

Members should meet at the Fishery in time for the draw at bank side at between 7 and 7.15am.

Evesham WMC

FISHING the Annual Cup on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Claverton, members found plenty of small fish but no big ones showed.

Mart Woods won with 10.12.8 followed by Mick Brooks (7.3.0), closely followed by Nat Prothorough (7.0.0).

The next match is at Stubbs Pool, draw at 7am.
