FARM Crisis Network is expecting to receive more calls over the coming months as farmers struggle to adjust to the changes coming with CAP reform, particularly the new Single Farm Payment.
Christopher Jones, national co-ordinator of FCN, said:"The Single Farm Payment and Cross Compliance will, for many, bring painful issues to the surface, issues that arise from circumstances beyond our control, issues that we would love to see go away. However, they will not go away."
He explained: "It is our experience that some positive developments can arise around even the most difficult situation if farming people and families are helped to resume control of their lives.
FCN has been here through all the farming trials of the last 10 years and we are still here now, providing practical support and help."
