Members who joined the annual dawn chorus walk on Kinver Edge were rewarded by the singing of a tree pipit, and sightings of a willow warbler and a goldcrest.

Members also met for an evening of birdwatching.

The annual nest box project has been finalised, but due to August weather conditions, many migrating insect-eating species have been found to be underweight, meaning numbers going back to warmer climes will be down on previous years.

The first branch meeting of the season will be on Wednesday, September 22 at St Oswald's Church Centre, Kidderminster, starting at 7.30pm, when conservationist Rosemary Winnall while talk about the Woodpeckers of Rock Coppice.

Non-members will be welcome at the meeting.

On Sunday, September 26, the field meeting is to Wyre Forest, leaving Dry Mill Lane parking area at 10am.
