KIDDERMINSTER Carolians seconds restored some pride for the club by beating their Bridgnorth counterparts 20-15.
KCs opened the scoring with two good penalty kicks by Lol Round, only for the visitors to strike back with a converted try and a penalty to lead 10-6.
New seconds skipper Mick Crocker gave them a talking to and it had the desired effect as they forced visiting Bridgnorth back.
Jack Tunstall regained the lead with a try and Round's conversion made it 13-10 at half-time.
A head injury forcing Dave Betson to retire from the action early.
The second half was fairly even until Dan Lowe took a good pass in his own half and powered through the Bridgnorth defence to touch down under the posts. It made for an easy conversion by Round and although Bridgnorth battled away and scored a good try in the corner, KCs held on for the win.
KCs seconds will be looking for more of the same when they visit Droitwich seconds at 3pm on Saturday.
