ALMOST 30 pigeons, worth thousands of pounds, were stolen in two separate break-ins in Wolverley and Kidderminster.
Police have only just released information about the incidents, which both took place during June.
In the first incident, 21 champion stock racing pigeons, worth £3,000, were taken from a pigeon loft on a Wolverley smallholding, overnight between Friday, June 18 and Saturday, June 19.
Five pigeons, worth £1,500, were also taken from a loft, in the garden of a house off Bewdley Hill, Kidderminster on Thursday, June 24.
PC Phil Green, of Kidderminster police, said: "The first owner believed the pigeons had been taken by children and hoped they would return of their own accord within a few days but there has been no sign of them.
"The second owner was devastated to discover their birds were missing."
