PERSISTENT pestering paid off for seven-year-old angler Lois Brown when she bagged the catch of the day after nagging her parents to take her fishing.

Brown, who is the daughter of Furnce Mill Fisheries managers Ed and Jane Brown proved a natural when she was taught by her dad to plumb the depth with sweetcorn and feed pellet.

And after landing tench and carp on peg 98 she switched to Furnace feed and strawberry hooker pellets to catch, among other fish, two 4lb carp and an 8lb mirror carp.

Kidderminster angler Liam Driver played his part too, by assisting his young colleague with the landing net.
