MICK Rogers is taking stock of a treble success on the track after becoming a world champion for the third year running.

The 39-year-old Cookley driver added to his achievements in 2002 and 2003 by motoring to glory again in the V8 World Stock Car Championships.

With his power-packed performance in 10 qualifying races around the country, Rogers started the final at Coventry Raceway in pole position in front of 10,000 spectators.

And after speeding away from the field made up of 32 British, two Dutch, one Australian and one New Zealand driver, he completed a remarkable hat-trick.

Although he is pushing 40, Rogers, who is sponsored by BW Rogers, DA Larkin Transport, Foley Self Drive and A Bell Fasteners, insists there is plenty more fuel in the tank.

He said: "I've been doing this for 25 years and I've had some great achievements with these wins and becoming national points champion, so I've got no intention of packing up just yet."
