The Shuttle/Times and News has had an overwhelming response to its first Wyre Forest Baby of the Year competition with more than 6,000 votes cast on our special telephone lines.

The overall winner has now been chosen and is Honor Farebrother from the 11 to 18 month category. She wins a framed portrait.

Winner of the 0 to 10 month category was Mia Cutliffe and Charlie Lloyd-Perks won the 19 to 24 months category. Both win framed portraits.

Runner-up in the 0 to 10 month category was Lottie Cooper, runner-up in the 11 to 18 month category was Kyla Roberts and Chloe Hancox was runner-up in the 19 to 24 months category. They all win framed portraits.

Advertisement manager at the Shuttle/Times and News Ross Walmsley said it was a fantastic competition to run and we were overwhelmed by the response both in terms of entrants and votes cast.

"There were 342 entrants and 6,046 votes were cast making this a sensational response," he added.

"We would like to say a big thanks to everyone who entered the competition."

Mr Walmsley added that there have also been hundreds of orders for reprints of the photographs and if anyone hasn't ordered one yet then please don't despair as there is still time to do so.

"All you have to do is order the photographs from the Shuttle/Times and News reception desk," he added.

Picture framer Richard Tipper of Tippers has provided frames for photographs of the winners.

He said: "We are delighted to have had the opportunity of sponsoring the competition. We thought it was a super idea and the response has been terrific and judging from the photographs published in the Shuttle/Times and News, Wyre Forest mums must surely have the bonniest babies in Britain."

The photographic sessions were carried out at the Kidderminster Swan Centre.

Swan Centre manager Margaret Moon, said it had been an immensely successful competition and she hopes it can become an annual event.

She said: "It proved incredibly popular with shoppers and we gained some extra trade as well."
