BOURNHEATH cat breeder Marion Pearson, from Parish Hill, was doing her bit to foster better relationships with countries from behind the Iron Curtain. Two of her prize Persian pussies had been exported to a village near Budapest where their new owner planned to breed from them.

DOG shows were in future to be banned from being staged at Bromsgrove Youth Centre, in New Road. The authorities claimed they posed a health hazard. Around ten shows were staged there annually raising £200 in letting fees.

THERE were red faces at Bromsgrove's recently opened Fine Fare supermarket. On thousands of promotional leaflets the store said shoppers could park for free on the large car park fronting the Market Street store. This had led many shoppers to believe, incorrectly, that a deal had be struck between the store and district council resulting in many drivers having to pay an excess charge for not having a ticket.
