THE expertise of an award-winning garden designer is up for grabs at a charity auction later this month.

Celebrated landscape gardener Chris Caligari is offering to design a bespoke plan for the highest bidder at a Cutnall Green auction of promises.

"It's a really good prize and just one of many we have going under the hammer," said Janet Ley, who is organising the money-spinner.

Worcester-based Chris has a unique style of design, which aim to allow plants and garden structures to nestle together comfortably and encourage wildlife to develop. He won the Royal Horticultural Society's prestigious Silver Gilt award at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2002. He has also exhibited at the Three Counties Showground.

There are 30 other lots going under the hammer including a pampering beauty package; a cricket bat autographed by the England team and a meal for two at the Stone Manor Hotel.

It will take place at Gateley Farm in Addis Lane, Cutnall Green on September 25 and auctioneer Philip Serrell from BBC's Bargain Hunt has offered his services for the evening. It will start at around 7.15pm.

Tickets are priced £8.50 and include a buffet supper and copy of the auction catalogue. All money raised from the event will go to the Cutnall Green First School's classroom appeal.

"Thank you to all donators, commercial and individuals, without their generosity this event could not take place. Many thanks also to the people who have volunteered to help out on the night," added Janet.
