LET'S face it, we all like a bacon buttie and a mug of tea to get us going in the morning.
Which meant that School House Private Day Nursery in Dodford was the place to be last Thursday and Friday.
Nursery staff made bacon butties for parents and friends in a bid to raise cash for Bromsgrove firefighter Simon Hawkins, who lost his leg in a motorbike accident.
Simon is a member of Green Watch, who are regular visitors to the nursery to help the tots learn fire safety, and the firefighters dropped in last Friday morning for a bacon buttie, or two, and to show the children their firefighting equipment.
Nursery nurse Hayley Langford, who is helping to organise the event, said: "The bacon buttie mornings were a big success, with more than £170 raised so far to help buy Simon an artificial leg."
Yesterday (Tuesday) the nursery aimed to raise even more cash for Simon with a mad hair day.
