THE Spadesbourne Ladies met for their September evening, as usual at the Bromsgrove Golf Centre, to be entertained by Mike Wilkes, who showed slides taken during his safari to Zimbabwe.
These included some most beautiful birds which we most certainly would never see in chilly England.
The members, plus a few friends, visited Northampton and Althorp House one afternoon. There was wonderful weather and a superb day of enjoyment helped along by a good commentary by his Lordship himself, Charles Spencer (electronically recorded - of course!).
We have two more outings to look forward to: a visit to Norcutts Garden Centre (with lunch at Stratford College of Catering) and a look at the Christmas lights in the streets, taking the opportunity to do some retail therapy at the same time.
The Primrose Choir has been booked to entertain the club at the December meeting and our winter dinner has been slightly altered to be at lunchtime. There will be entertainment at the same time at the Bridges Restaurant in Hindlip.
All in all - a winter of entertainment ahead of the club!
