IT'S about time Bromsgrove District Council started to acknowledge their grass cutting policy is just not working.

How many times have we driven past areas that have recently had grass cut and found that cuttings have been left over the grass, making the area look unsightly? Grass has been left in the side of the road, areas have been missed, no effort has been made to cut around lamp columns, road signs or kerbs and weeds growing only a few yards away from areas of grass are simply ignored and left to grow wild when it would be so easy to cut them. The grass also seems not to be cut very short as within days it looks like it needs cutting again!

Driving into Bromsgrove from the M42 takes you past the small traffic island that leads to David Lloyds and the new Art Centre. No doubt the council will be hoping that this new centre will attract external visitors to the town but to get to it you will have to drive round the island that has got a wonderful selection of overgrown weeds and it is a disgrace. The council spends thousands of pounds on the new island by the market, with plants etc and yet can't even be bothered to keep the one island tidy that is on a main thoroughfare in to the town.

I drive to Solihull every day and there the grass is collected and kept short and tidy. Perhaps they should arrange for the contractors that cut their grass to give Bromsgrove a quote!

Bromsgrove is a great town that could look a whole lot tidier. Litter...now that is another story!
