WORCESTER won their final Birmingham League Division Two game of the season against Blossomfield at Norton after their batsmen hit form, having struggled all season.

After winning the toss, Adam Binks invited the visitors to bat on a good looking pitch and after making a steady start they lost wickets at regular intervals.

Only John Neale with a fine 65, including seven fours, held firm against the Worcester attack.

All the bowlers did well, with Russ Bryan taking 2-35, Stu Lockwood 3-21, but the star of the show was occasional bowler Dan McKay who grabbed 4-26, as Blossomfield were dismissed for 160 in the 54th over.

Worcester got off to a fine start in reply with Dan Tarver and Mark Chambers adding 96 for the first wicket, before Tarver was unluckily run out for a fine 38.

Chambers went on to carry his bat for a well made 62 not out, his top score of the season, as Worcester reached 163-3 in the 44th over.

Worcester took 20 points to Blossomfield's three.

Worcester II suffered a heavy defeat at Bromsgrove.

Batting first Worcester were bundled out for a paltry 110 in 39 overs. Top scorer was skipper Dorm Cook with 30.

Bromsgrove made light work of their task, reaching 111-1 in the 36th over. Geoff Gibbon struck a hard- hit 65 not out.
