THE Spot the Spoof competition run by the Primrose Hospice finished last Saturday - with many Redditch people winning prizes.

The competition involved 20 shops in and around the Kingfisher Centre displaying a "spoof" item in their window - something they do not normally sell or is not associated with that type of business.

Members of the public then visited each shop to spot the spoof, note down the item on an entry form and hand in to the Primrose Shop, together with a suggested donation of £1.

Donations will go towards the charity's Primrose at the Princess palliative care bed appeal, which cares for local people experiencing cancer and other life=limiting illness.

The winner of the first prize of four tickets to West Midlands Safari Park plus £30 Dixon Group vouchers was Tudor Hall Nursery, Enfield, which entered as a group.

Mrs Traves, of Winyates East, scooped the second prize of a family ticket to Dudley Zoo, along with a £20 voucher for jewellers F Hinds.

Third prize went to Mrs Shermer, of Oakenshaw, who won a three-month fitness pass to Arrow Vale Sports Centre.

Hospice fundraiser Lorraine Hart said: "I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the shops for displaying odd items in their windows for six weeks and to the people of Redditch for taking part in the competition."
