FIRMS in Herefordshire and Worcestershire that produce anything using cereals are being urged to apply for grants of up to £50,000 to increase product development.
The grants are part of the Home Grown Cereals Authority (HGCA) Enterprise Awards scheme.
"There are many ways in which cereals and straw can be used in the production of food and non-food products," said Julian Gibbons, chairman of HGCA's market development committee.
"Lubricants, adhesive resins, and energy pellets have all been among past non-food winners of grants.
"If companies have the imagination and can see the potential, we can help by offering funding as well as management consultancy, to those who require it."
Companies wishing to apply for Enterprise grants can contacts HGCA on 0207 520 3901. Applications will close on Friday, December 31.
