A BOAT-making company in Worcestershire is riding high on the crest of a wave after releasing its latest flagship.

The £830,000 T60, by Sealine International, was launched at the Southampton Boat Show this week.

Designed and built solely in the company's headquarters in Whitehouse Road, Kidderminster, the luxury motor yacht epitomises the very best of contemporary design, according to its makers.

The colours, fabrics and finishes together with the construction of the furniture and the use of special woods all add to the modern interior design.

"The innovative features that have been incorporated into this new model are the culmination of more than 30 years experience of building luxury motor yachts," said Gerard Wainwright, chairman of Sealine.

"The T60 offers the comfort, space, and equipment levels normally only found on yachts in excess of 70 feet - this is 60 feet.

"The flexible accommodation can be adapted to suit a variety of requirements with options of up to eight berths in three cabins, plus an optional single berth crew cabin.

"The T60 is a yacht built for entertaining - from the extending cockpit to the flybridge that offers an exceptional amount of space for relaxing, sunbathing and dining."

Additional features include a new sleek-line deck, new window shapes developed for the T60, a 20-inch TV, and two ensuite separate toilet and shower rooms.

A sprung mattress is now an option for the master cabin.

"We only produce ships that are different from other models around the world and that is why we're successful," added Mr Wainwright.

"We export more than 60 per cent of what we produce and our products go to more than 30 different countries around the world - and all these models are made by our staff at our 14-acre site in Kidderminster."

Interest in the yacht has already been high at the Southampton Boat Show, which is open until this Sunday, September 19.

Sealine International employs more than 500 people and produces more than 300 boats a year.
