EVESHAM United's unbeaten away record in Southern League Division West continued following a 4-0 win at bottom-of-the-table Egham Town.

The victory lifts United into third place, four points behind leaders Taunton Town.

Giant striker Jermaine Clarke, now finding the form that attracted several higher-graded sides last term, scored twice and was a handful for a poor Egham side all afternoon.

It took 30 minutes of probing on a dreadful playing surface before the Robins opened their account.

Clarke challenged 'keeper Adam Lowe to a 50-50 ball and it squirted out nicely into the path of Danny Williams who side-footed into an empty net.

The forward then used his body strength four minutes later to hold off a couple of challenges before slotting the ball between the legs of Lowe for number two.

The one-sided contest continued after the break and in the 55th minute, Evesham scored their third.

A deep free-kick from Gavin O'Toole was headed back across goal by Steve Duncan to the unmarked Clarke who made no mistake from close in.

The introduction of latest signing Ravi Sangha gave the Egham defence more headaches to think about and the ex-Tipton Town goal machine duly scored a fourth in the last minute.

Clarke released Sangha through the middle with a flicked header and he calmly lifted the ball over Lowe into the roof of the net.
