BROMSGROVE Rovers manager Joe Jackson has urged the success-starved Victoria Ground fans to be patient.

Jackson takes his side to Swindon Supermarine tomorrow (3pm) looking to chalk up their first win of the season.

A midweek defeat at Cinderford Town followed on the heels of last Saturday's opening day draw with league newcomers Oxford City.

Striker Paul Szewczyk missed out on those two games with a back injury and the former Chasetown marksman remains a doubt ahead of the trip to Wiltshire.

But Jackson says supporters must bide their time before seeing the best from the team he is building at the Victoria Ground.

"Most of these players are new to the club and we need time to work on our pattern of play," the Greens boss said.

"Even though players like Danny Lennon and Ryan Mahon were around last season, they were never really part of the team.

"The Joe Jackson way is not to look for the quick fix. The club has long-term plans and so do I - this is a side that will develop.

"We have a young set of lads with nine or ten of them under the age of 25.

"I know it is going to be tough for the fans but Bromsgrove Rovers have no divine right to be winning leagues and cups.

"Everyone has to be patient - the fans, the manager and the chairman. In the end it will click into place."
