BUTTERFLIES and flowers to brighten up the day won an eight-year-old Worcester girl a top prize in a children's art competition.
The competition to design a pillowcase was launched at a family fun day in June that marked the start of St Richard's New Hospice Appeal, which aims to raise £5.25m to build a new hospice in Worcester.
Artist David Birtwhistle had the difficult task of choosing the competition's winners with originality and suitability clinching the decision.
The hospice hopes to have the artwork made into a pillowcase for the new hospice.
Amy Chambers won the seven to 11 year olds top prize of a watercolour art set, and Nicholas Snowdon, of Leigh Sinton, and Hannah Tunstall, of St John's, coming runners up.
Freya Kavanagh, of Kempsey, won the category for aged six and under, and Georgia Mae Lowe, of Rushwick, taking the runners-up place.
