TONY Porter showed the way at Worcester's Perdiswell Park Golf Club as previous winners dominated the June competitions.

The 13 handicapper won with a net 62, two shots clear of Fred Pickwick (28) and Arthur Pike (26) who both had 64s.

The Foursomes Par Plate saw Jane Nicklin partnering Lillian Morris win with a Plus 6 , beating Fred Pickwick and Dennis Breeze (plus 5).

John Hunt, returning to competitive golf after a hip operation, partnered Phillis Potts and surprisingly managed a positive score of Plus 3 for the third position.

In the month's Summer League fourth round, John Rudge carded a magnificent 41 stableford points outpacing Duncan Enoch, Roy Turner, Pike and Junior Sean Allies all with 39 points.

Roy Turner with 145 points leads the field folowed by John Fogwill (134 points) and Ron Nicklin (129 points).

Pike produced an outstanding 40 points on Myvanny Weaving's Lade Captain's Day equalling Graham Potts who missed out on the top spot by recording an incorrect handicap.

Neil Allies, John Fogwill and Reg Andrewswere all close behind on 38 points. The day raised a total of £100 for Cancer Care Charity.

The final Midweek competition of the month a 38 stableford points win for regular John Byrne holding off the challenge of Mike Boylan (37points) and Bill Morris, Graham Potts and Dennis Breeze all on 36 points.
