PART of the pavement in Church Street, Great Malvern, had to be closed off after tiles started falling from the roof.
High winds on Wednesday afternoon caused tiles to fall from 93-95 Church Street, home of the Dorothy Perkins clothes shop.
Manager Julie Sparrey said: "It wasn't very nice, they started to come down about 3pm, and we had to warn people to stand clear. Four or five of the tiles came down and there were a few more a little while later."
The highway authority was called out to put bollards on the pavement and the alleyway running between Church Street and the Somerfield car park was shut.
Yesterday (Thursday) morning, scaffolding went up around the building to allow repairs to be made. It was hoped that the work could be completed by the end of the day.
Around 3,400 households across Herefordshire and Worcestershire suffered power cuts from Wednesday's storms.
However, by noon yesterday Central Networks said that only 216 households were still without electricity. The company said that engineers worked through the night.
