TOMORROW (Saturday), there will be another summer soiree in St Mary's Church, starting at 7pm. Longdon Junior Church and senior choirs will be singing a range of popular songs, including Morningtown Ride and Brother James' Air. Several gifted instrumental players will perform music for saxophone, oboe, violin, organ and piano, including The Shadow of your Smile, Nice Work if You can get It and Sicilienne. There will be pieces for soprano and treble voice, including Pie Jesu, Come unto Him and Laudate Dominum. Further interest will be added in the form of several light-hearted readings, in short a very varied programme that is guaranteed to entertain the audience. During the interval, a buffet with wine and soft drinks will be served in Longdon vicarage garden. Tickets may be purchased at the door, £6 adults, and £1 children.
